ECNY awards

So, the ECNY Awards were last night. 

If you are a person reading this blog, friends with me on facebook, have ever given me your email address, or have made eye contact with me within the past month then you already know that BriTANicK was nominated for 'Best Sketch Comedy Group'. 

Turns out we did not win. Huge congrats to Derrick, who did win, there's not a group we would have rather come in second place to. (some of you might say that there is only one winner, and four losers. You might say that there is no determination of an order in which nominees place. I then, might say to you, "Suck it.")

We did, however, have a great ol' time at the show. We got to hang out in a room filled with a bunch of people we respect, most of whom spent most of the show making fun of the fact that the ECNY awards actually exist. 

This Wednesday at 9:30pm we're performing in A-Side/B-Side at UCB. The idea is to perform one sketch that is a tried and true crowd pleaser and then another sketch that is risky and inappropriate. Brian and I have decided to write two brand new sketches. As of now, we have not written them yet. WE HAVE TO FIND A BETTER WAY OF WORKING.

a couple things

Alright, it's been a while since I've posted anything so here we go.

Let's do this together everyone.

The run of the new BriTANicK show starts February 20th at UCB. Come and see it. Do it. Seriously.

It was great fun to write and has been even more fun to perform. If you saw us perform it in January, come back because there's a few changes we're making.

Speaking of this new show, we performed it at the Chicago Sketchfest and got a few reviews written about us. Check them out here and here.

It's currently down to me and ONE other fella for a teeny part in a new Meryl Streep movie. The character has 5 lines, but all of them are spoken directly to Meryl Streep and during three of them I would get to pretend I'm drunk. I don't know this other guys name, where he lives, or the best way to kill him so there's literally nothing I can do about it.

Everytime the phone rings my heart does a somersault.

I'm gonna start writing more blogs. I just decided that right now.

Alright, that wasn't so hard. Good job all around.

BriTANicK review

An online magazine/blog thing wrote some very nice things about BriTANicK recently.
It's pretty much our first official review, not counting the one Treborf69 wrote of our video 'Brainteasers'

KlonDICK

We found out a little while ago that we didn't make it to the final round of the Klondike Bar Video Contest. I'm not gonna lie, that sucked a bit.

What sucks even worse is that I'm traveling around the Yukon right now and every third word I see is 'Klondike'. Seriously, they need to start naming stuff something else. For example, how about instead of 'The Klondike Hotel' they name it 'The Don't-Worry-About-It-Nick-You'll-Get-'em-Next-Time Hotel". Already that makes me feel better.
